Hi David,

I emailed you the Excel spreadsheet containing the data array and its transposition.

Explanation of what I'm doing...

Hi David,

This is what I'm doing:

I'm "transposing" the X axis and the series , see images below; the second image would be an end-view of the first.

I'm currently doing this using a spreadsheet to transpose my data array, and then I copy/paste into DPLot.

Labeling data points-- arrow heads

Labeling a data point places a label box with an arrow pointing to the data point...

can the arrow head be changed to a different symbol, like a dot or a square (hollow or filled, selectable size)...?

Transposing series with axis

When you open/paste a Z table (a table with X and Y axes, and a 2D matrix of data Z), you get a series of curves with common X and Y axes (the series would be the Z axis)...

question: is there an easy/quick way to transpose X and Z, or Y and Z, or X and Y...?

( i.e. I want a different axis to be ...

Hi David,

Now I have a Z table where:
for Y<2400 the Y increment is 200
for Y>2400 the Y increment is 400

i.e. the Y axis is not evenly spaced (see pic below).

How would I enter this data so I can plot it...?

[ lol, problem must be between keyboard and seat ]

now I only see the 7x8 (instead of 7x7) problem as I said in my email.

3D plot

I know how to plot a 3D surface from a straight list of X,Y,Z values in a .csv file.

But how would I plot a 3D surface when the .csv file contains the data arranged in an M * N array with the X-values across the top,
Y-values down the left side, (possibly a table name in the upper left corner ...

How do I enter 3D data...?

Hi,

I have a spreadsheet containing an MxN array of values...

The axes of the array are X and Y, and the values are Z...

Can I copy/paste that array into DPlot and arrive at a 3D plot...?

If I can do that, then can I change the interpolation (i.e. "Equal Interval") as I did in my other post ...

Yes, or you could save yourself a bit of trouble with a couple of manipulations first.

1) Edit>Operate on Y with "if(mod(x,7)=0,y,<some arbitrarily large value>)"

This will set all Y values for which X is not a multiple of 7 to ...

Ok, how about this...

- import data points via .csv file,
- do Equal Interval (0.001, linear) to "fill in" by interpolation,
- do Edit Data and delete the points not wanted...
- save as .csv (further edit to delete the points not wanted).

The third step is tedious... is there a way to select ...

Hmmm... I tried Equal Intervals and I didn't like what it did...

Let me try a different approach...

For a given curve, I want to save it as .csv, but I want only the points for specific values of x...
