Anti-Aliasing

The pop-up tips in DPlot (1.9.5.4) still mention anti-aliasing as follows:

3D scatter plots taking a long time to draw? Select the Symbol Styles command on the Options menu and check to see whether 'Antialias symbols on display output' is checked. Antialiased symbols DO look better, but require ...

Curve fitting causes DPlot 1.9.5 shutdown

David,

I'm not sure if this is a problem with this latest release only, since I haven't used the feature in awhile (i.e., it might have cropped up in an earlier version), but when trying to do a curve fit (of any order it seems--I only tested for 1 & 2) DPlot suddenly shuts down.

I'm assuming it's ...

David,

If instead you want your data values truncated to integers... there's no way to do that currently.
In a related vein, I too would like to be able to display the actual data point values with a specified number of decimal places (I wouldn't limit it to integers, since much of my data is ...

Window ME Excel add-in install

David,

I went ahead and used the evaluation version to install the Excel add-in and things went without a hitch.

Just a note:

Unzip this file to c:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Microsoft\Addins. Substitute your username for <username>. If you don't have an \Addins folder ...

Problems installing Excel add-in (v1.9.3.2)

David,

I've tried installing DPlot 1.9.3.2 with the Excel add-in several times, but have been unsuccessful each time. I have used the "allow macros" option, but get the error (once the macro is executed):

Run-time error '1004':

Unable to get the Add property of the AddIns class.

I'm running ...

David,

A few last improvements that I'd like you to consider for fills & number formatting. Would it be possible to extend the same color fill options (for above and below the selected y=a line [y=0 in my case is the norm]) to the bar charts as well?

Also, I'd like to be able to include a legend ...

As always, I appreciate your efforts on all this.

I'll add an option to draw the fills before the grid lines (if you're talking about anything other than grid lines/tick marks you've lost me).

I was thinking of the tick labels as well as the the midline x-axis & ticks (the y=0 line). I really ...

Additional fill options

David,

I was actually going to make a similar suggestion; however, my need is generally for when I am plotting around a mid-line zero x-axis. I also used the y=0 workaround, but would always have to rehide the y=0 "graph" on reopening the file. Is it possible to include the fill option for a mid ...

In addition to performing the translation, this new command also sets the number format of the X axis to 'Date and Time' and your Time format string to something that DPlot deems appropriate. If, for example, your time formatting string is 'h:mm:ss tt' and the granularity of the input is 1 hour or ...

...it would be nice if the program automatically truncated the extra unnecessary data in the date format as well. For example, YYYY would display only the year, without displaying the month/day/time (which would all be zeros). YYYYMM would display only the year and month--truncating the extra ...

David,

Thanks for your quick reply.

Just a thought (feel free to tell me to bug off if I'm making requests that you think are over the top  )--for those of us who deal with time series a great deal, it would be nice to have a way to internally deal with dates in a more convenient format ...

Additional Date Format Option

Mr. Hyde,

Is it possible to add a date option that doesn't depend on the Microsoft Excel date system serial number format (and the concommitant programming requirements for conversion)? In my numerical weather model work, the dates are often output as YYYYMMDDTTTT to allow for alphabetic sorting ...
