Reporting Bugs for DPlot Version 3

Post by DPlotAdmin »

DPlot Version 3 is now available, and ARA is actively maintaining and improving DPlot.

We welcome bug reports from users as we continue refining Version 3 and expanding its capabilities. Your reports are especially helpful when they include enough detail for us to reproduce the problem.

Please use this board to report issues such as:
  • Crashes, exceptions, or unexpected program behavior
  • Plot display or rendering problems
  • Issues opening, saving, or importing files
  • Differences between DPlot Version 3 and earlier versions
  • Problems with labels, legends, notes, symbols, axes, scaling, or formatting
  • Data import/export issues
  • Excel Add-In or external integration problems
  • Performance issues with large datasets
  • Problems with legacy DPlot files opened in Version 3
When posting a bug report, please include as much of the following information as possible:
  1. DPlot version number
Please include the exact Version 3 build you are using, if available.
  2. Windows version
For example: Windows 10, Windows 11, Windows Server, etc.
  3. What you were trying to do
Briefly describe the task, plot type, file type, or workflow involved.
  4. What happened
Describe the incorrect behavior, error message, crash, or unexpected result.
  5. What you expected to happen
If possible, describe how you expected DPlot to behave.
  6. Steps to reproduce the issue
A numbered list is especially helpful.
  7. Whether the issue involves a new file or a legacy file
If the issue occurs when opening an older DPlot file, please mention whether the file was created in Version 2.3 or another earlier version.
  8. Example files or screenshots
When possible, please attach a sample file, screenshot, or small dataset that demonstrates the problem.
DPlot Version 3 is a modernized platform and can be installed alongside Version 2.3, so existing workflows can continue while Version 3 is enhanced and improved. Some advanced legacy features are still being reintroduced, and reports comparing Version 3 behavior to Version 2.3 are useful as we continue development.
