DPlot Version 3 includes preliminary support for programmatic interaction, but this area is still under active development.
The current Version 3 implementation includes:
- Legacy DDE server support for compatibility with existing workflows
- A newer HttpListener-based interface
- Limited programmatic support for common 2D plotting operations
- Updated support used by the Excel Add-In
- Initial support intended to provide a foundation for future expansion
- Macro support is not currently implemented in Version 3
- Plug-in support is not currently implemented in Version 3
- Advanced automation workflows may still require Version 2.3
- 3D programmatic data transfer and more advanced integration features are planned for future improvement.
If you currently use DPlot from C, C++, C#, Fortran, Basic, Excel, Delphi, or another external application, we would appreciate hearing from you. Helpful feedback includes:
- What language or application you are using
- Whether you are using DDE, DPLOTLIB, Excel, macros, plug-ins, or another workflow
- Which DPlot commands or capabilities are most important to your process
- Whether your workflow depends on Version 2.3 behavior
- Any examples of automation or integration features you would like prioritized in Version 3
