Dear David,
Is is possible to improve the "Playback" function by adding this :
a step by step (forward and back playback) function, and is it possible the memorize all the playback parameters in the .grf files ?
Best regards
Franck

First you have to tell me how much a "step" isa step by step (forward and back playback) function...

If you're thinking about video frames then the question is answered. Otherwise, how long is a "step"?
Once you tell me how long a step is, forward is no problem. Backward can be a mess with some video compression schemes. With MPG, the only way to back up is to start over because of the way frames - actually differences in frames - are stored. That isn't to say it can't be done. But it might be very slow, particularly for large videos.

Yes. The only problem I see here is that you might have conflicting information in various .grf files. But the answer there would be (I think) to use the settings for the most recently activated file (assuming you have multiple documents open).

Thank you for your quick response.
About the step I was thinking of video frame but it was not so clear in the mail.
For the forward and backward function the aim is to make an analysis between recorded signals (shock) and high speed video (2000 frames/sec).
The best way is to use the settings for the most recently activated file as you said.
Best regards
Franck

I'll look into adding a frame-by-frame advance. I'm not real sure logically what that should do if there's no video - I'll probably either disable the buttons, or force the step to be the "Rate" value, in whatever time units are assumed.
This won't be in the next release (coming very soon now) but it's a fairly easy change and is at the top of my list.

Franck,
You can't yet save the playback settings to a DPlot file, but everything else is in place in today's update: single step forward/back, and all settings are preserved instead of using default values every time you use the command.
