On regular basis, I have a 20000+ point line graph to process and jumping around zooming in different section of the graph to analyse the issues.

I wonder if there can be a "bird-eye" view available that will give instant idea where I am at with relationship to the entire data set. Also "panning" controls on the bird-eye view to enable me to quickly move around.

You can pan around a plot with the arrow keys. The default pan distance is 1/2 the plot extents. If you use Ctrl+arrow keys, the distance is 1/10th that distance. You can also pan a plot by clicking-and-dragging. Pressing the Shift key while dragging restricts the motion to horizontal, vertical, or 45 degrees.

"Quickly" depends on how many points you have (20000 isn't all that many) and on whether you have antialiasing turned on (Options>General>Antialias objects on display output...

No plans for a built-in view of the total plot. That's a good suggestion, though.
