Is it possible apply a 'base map' to XYZ contours?

Hi,

I need to plot pollutant concentration contours on an aerial image.

I have been evaluating dPlot and it can accept data from my dispersion modeling program. So dPlot does most of what I want except for the final step of applying a 'base map' so that the contours appear overlaid on a background aerial image.

Photoshop can combine two jpgs, but I would prefer it if there was a way to do it within dPlot so I don't need Photoshop.

Can anyone tell me please if dPlot can do this, please?

See Blog entry:

http://www.dplot.com/blog/2009/07/plot-overlays.html

It's intended for vector map and a plot overlay, but you might be able to use the DPlot bitmap plugin to generate a surface plot, then overlay you data on top of that. It's only available through a macro however.

Anyway, would be worth looking at the blog entry to get some background for what has been implemented.

There's a much better solution starting with version 2.2.8.5, improved in 2.2.8.8: See http://www.dplot.com/features.htm#BGIMAGE and http://www.dplot.com/help/index.htm?hel ... _image.htm
