I am trying to send data from the PicoLog to DPlot with DDE and get a message "Cannot connect with service: PLW"
DPlot then asks to try to connect > yes > "cannot find the path PLW in registry"
PicoLog help has a DDE topic that says to use key words: PLW, Current, Value
Sorry, I'm lost.

Make sure PicoLog is running at the time you attempt to connect with it. Other than that - I don't know. It sounds like you're doing everything correctly to me. (I'm assuming you're using DPlot's Edit>Insert Link command.)

I went back through everything with the same results. I am using the insert link command. In the PicoLog the IP server socket is defaulted to 1050. Does server socket 1050 sound correct?

I'm sorry but this is meaningless to me. "IP" infers some sort of network connection, but there are no internet transactions involved in DDE calls. I'm unfamiliar with PicoLog but will see what I can find out.
You didn't really answer the following question, which admittedly isn't formed as a question:
Make sure PicoLog is running at the time you attempt to connect with it.
From "Cannot connect with service: PLW" I get that either 1) your PicoLog application is not running at the time you use "Insert Link" or 2) the PicoLog documentation is wrong and you should be using a different "service" name.

The PicoLog was running. I'll try PicoLog help.
Thanks for your time.
