Saved Preferences disappear after Append & #N/A Fields

Saved Preferences disappear after Append & #N/A Fields
David, I have 3 Q's
ONE:
I am using the Grain Size Dist (nice:-)) and made a Baseline Grading Envelope all one colour (pink), line Type (Solid), and saved the Preferences and grf.
I then made a series of grading curves for SandyGRAVEL, all one line Type (Large Dash) and Colour (RED), saved the Graph (and Saved these as a set of Preferences too).
I did the same for a Gravelly SAND, but with a different subset of line type (Small Dash) and colour (Blue).
I then proceded to Append the 3 graphs together, in two steps, thinking I would get just 3 colours and 3 line types. NOPE.
Is there any way to FREEZE the saved graph so there is NOT a Magic Update when Graphs are appended?
TWO. Unlike Excel DPLOT does not ignore #N/A fields, but expects a number. Anyway around this?
THREE. For % plots, is it possible to get DPLOT to recognise EITHER 1 or 100, as 100%?
k.

Whoops. Will fix this one for sure.

Not currently. I need to change this to skip over blank columns (two successive commas) as well.
Not now, and probably not in the future unless I misunderstand what you want. There's no reason you shouldn't have a 10000%, for one thing.THREE. For % plots, is it possible to get DPLOT to recognise EITHER 1 or 100, as 100%?

GREAT. Now?Whoops. Will fix this one for sure.

Great. Emulating Excel's behaviour in this regard is good for me.Not currently. I need to change this to skip over blank columns (two successive commas) as well.
OK, no biggy, (although on a GSD plot you will only ever have 100% ... 10,000%???! )Not now, and probably not in the future unless I misunderstand what you want. There's no reason you shouldn't have a 10000%, for one thing.

David,
Has there been a reversion back to old behaviour, as I tried appending some grf plots again and was hoping that the plot that all the preferences in the plot I was appending TO, i.e. "the master plot" if you like, would be saved, but the master takes on the preferences of the appended plot(s).
I did save the preferences of the master and reapply them, which works (except for the additional plots) but what I would REALLY like is for JUST the curve line style and colour preferences from the added plots to be saved in the master, if this makes sense.
i.e. I would like to do this:
1. I set up the master, select all fonts, scaling preferences etc, but I only have to select colours/styles for the first 4 curves
2. I make several new plots, from which I just want to add the curves (to the master) but I define the curve styles and colours (and save these as preference types, like "all blue dashed lines for curve 1~50"), which is the ONLY info I want take across to the master i.e. selectable preferences to append.
3. I append the plots (multiple grfs if possible
) and the master adds the curves, using ONLY curve styles and colours from the appended plots AND ONLY for the NUMBER of curves appended, but takes all other prefs from the master.
This way I can apply predefined preferences for colours and styles to the appendees, which will update the master CURVES only.
Is this possible and likely?
Currently I have been going into the master AFTER the append, and doing a select on curve 5 to 10 (say), choose the first colour at plot 5 and cycle the colour every 1 curve. I then add a new plot and repeat this exercise, but it is a bit of a bind , as sometimes there are curves 5 to 9 or 5 to 11, then 9 to 16 etc.

There's not much doubt that when I do this, the next guy will say "why when I append this plot are the extents saved with that plot not used?". But there's no way to please everybody, and your suggestion makes the most sense to me. But extended just a bit. For appended files only the settings that are pertinent to the data will be preserved. Urmm... that's not quite right, either, because it leaves out things like Notes. OK - settings in Appended plots that affect the entire plot (e.g. extents, tick marks, multiple axes settings) will be ignored.

Perfect. I know you work hard on all this stuff, and it is appreciated.OK - settings in Appended plots that affect the entire plot (e.g. extents, tick marks, multiple axes settings) will be ignored
