Outlining solid symbols in colors other than black

Post by Albannach »

I know how to mark points with open symbols in any color I want, and also how to mark them with solid symbols in any color, either with or without outline. What I don't know how to do is create solid symbols outlined in colors other than black. Anybody know how to do this? Thanks for any help.

The only way to do that is to get the author to put it on his to-do list and wait for the next release. You've done the first part :-)

If you have an urgent need for this then you can get the same effect by duplicating the curve (Edit>Copy>Data values, Edit>Paste), then using the same symbol type but slightly smaller size on the pasted curve.

Thanks David. Actually, I had already thought of that as a workaround. What I actually do is paste the graph as a metafile into a drawing program, where I do some other stuff with it that isn't, and doesn't need to be, available in DPlot, and change the outline color there, but it would be nice to be able to do it within DPlot itself. So . . . even more work for the already hard-working author of DPlot.
