Tiny Print

Post by Jim Beebe »

Polar plots are printing with unreadably tiny print. They are fine on screen. XY plots are also fine, printed or on screen. My normal printer is an HP LaserJet 6L, but the same thing happens printing to CutePDF. I'm running version 2.1.7.5.

I can send a PDF from CutePDF if you need it.

Jim,
Sorry you're having trouble. I'd be more interested in a saved DPlot file than the PDF. I tried just now "printing" to a PDF with the example file EX03.GRF and it looks like I expect it to.

Jim,
I'm not sure yet what's going on there - my best guess at the moment is that DPlot is forcing the extents such that the plot is circular, but somehow botching up getting the correct page extents (making the plot size much larger than will fit on the page) and then scaling everything down so it will fit.

For now you can get around the problem with Options>Extents/Intervals/Size; check "Specify plot size" and enter the width/height of the plot (the outer circle).

Jim,
Problem solved. Sorry for the trouble, but thanks very much for pointing out the problem. As you're on the mailing list you should receive an update notice soon. If you don't want to wait, select "Check for Updates" on the Help menu.
