File history: when file not exists Dplot closes down.

Post by Roberto »

Hi,

In the File menu there's a list of previously opened files.
When using them to reopen a file and the file doesn't exist anymore, then DPlot simply closes down instantly without any warning or error message.
It happens when no file in DPlot already is opened but even when a DPlot file already is open (and possibly not saved yet)!

DPlot shouldn't close down just like that. Especially when an other file is open. That nothing happens when attempting to reopen an unexisting file ok, but it's even better to let DPlot kindly show an error message regarding to the file is not existing.

Oh, almost forgot: this was happening with DPlot 2.2 on Windows XP home SP2 but with XP-styles disabled (Win98-look).

Cheers,
Roberto

Confirmed with 2.20.

2.1.8.1 acted corrected and just stated that the file didn't exist.

Win xppro sp2 (yes, and it looks like win2k!)

David - lots of new things in 2.2 - you've been busy!

Roberto,
Thanks for pointing out the problem. This is fixed in 2.2.0.1 (just uploaded). You can get it with Check for Updates on the Help menu or from the link sent in last night's update notice mail.

In DPlot 2.2.0.1 I cannot get DPlot to close down by opening an unexisting file. It even kindly comes up with an error message and an option what to do. Very neat!

So it seems fixed now. Thanks for the quick fix and instant upload 8)
