Ungrouping DPlot graphs in OOo Draw

Post by Albannach »

I'm not sure which end to approach this question from, so I'm posting it in the user forums in both applications. For years, I have been pasting DPlot graphs into the old Micrografx Draw program, then ungrouping them for further processing. However, Micrografx Draw is no longer available, and doesn't work in 64-bit Windows 7, even in compatibility mode, so I switched to Open Office Draw. However, when I paste the graph into OOo Draw, it won't let me ungroup it. Any suggestions?

I'll look into this over the weekend (don't have OO at present), but make sure you're pasting a metafile rather than a bitmap. Draw should have a Paste Special menu command where you can select which format you want.

I downloaded Open Office and, no offense or anything, but quickly remembered why I uninstalled it the last time. A metafile pasted into Draw looks awful: the fonts are completely fouled up. That definitely isn't something DPlot is messing up. Fonts look perfect pasted into Word or any image editor I've tried. All of the Modify>Group/Ungroup commands in Draw are disabled.

Short version: I have no idea, sorry.

ungrouping graphs pasted into OOoDraw

Thanks for trying, but I got the solution in the OOo forum. In case anyone else is trying this, what you do is use Modify/Break. Pasting in different formats didn't help.
