Polar Histogram?

Post by John Horrigan »

Good afternoon. This didn't come up on my forum search, so I thought I would ask.

I have a wind distribution model to present, and it would be very handy to be able to use a polar presentation (compass rose) and wind speed to show the frequency of different wind velocities.

Is there an easy way to do this in DPlot? If not, is it worth considering for enhancement?

Thanks for your consideration.

If you can send me an example that might be helpful. I can't picture it, but I'm a bit near-sighted. A histogram is a measure of how many amplitudes fall within some bin of Y (in the case of polar plots, radius) values. The result is in a different domain than what you'd expect with a polar plot. If you expect the result to be plotted on a polar scale, I'm completely lost (the x axis on polar plots is normally the angle; on histograms the x axis is typically the bin), and if you don't expect the results to be plotted on a polar scale then the Histogram command should already do what you want.
