Reordering Curves in Legend

Post by Schwer »

I have been searching for the secret to changing the order of the curves displayed in the legend, e.g. if I have three curves but I decide curve #3 should be at the top (start) of the legend.

Other than copying the curves to a new plot window, in the preferred order, is there an easier way to achive this reordering?

Thanks for listening, --len

Len,
Easiest way: Right click on the legend entry for the curve you want to change the order of, then "Move up" or "Move down". Repeat as needed.

Also see the View>Reorder Curves menu command.

Thanks David, I will *try* to remeber at lest one of those two methods.

I did not think of the View menu as everything else for manipulating the plot window seems to be under the Edit or Options menus. But the right click is down right sneaky :)

Thanks again, --len

Len,
Yep, I try my best to hide features with sneaky right-click operations :-)

There are a few other operations I'd like to add right-click support for, for example click on a plot corner to specify the extents. But you might be surprised by what's already there, though not especially well-documented. For example: right-click on the numbers along an axis to specify the number formatting option, right-click on a curve to change the line or symbol style.
