Forum spam

Frequent visitors to these forums have likely noticed that spam posts have become an increasingly bad problem over the last 6 months or so. I try to clean things up as quickly as possible, but of course I can't monitor the site 24 hours a day and it bothers me a great deal that porn links sit on these forums for any length of time at all. I've tried all sorts of modifications to block robot spammers, but as far as I can tell many of these objectionable posts are coming from actual humans. In any case I've had it, and have decided to nuke this problem for good in the next release of DPlot.

Starting with the next release it will only be possible to register for the forums from within DPlot, DPlot Jr or DPlot Viewer. If you're already registered this change will not affect you in any way: you'll still be registered. If you have not registered for the forums then this would be a good time to do so if your 2-year period of free updates has expired or is close to expiring, since the registration mechanism isn't included in the version of DPlot you're currently using.

Done. You can now register for the forums through the Help menu of any of the DPlot applications. I apologize for the inconvenience. Hopefully this will solve the spam problem and allow me to concentrate on improving DPlot, rather than spending an hour or more each day cleaning up the mess.
